    Hi. I saw this question answered with a broken link. I need a working question.


    I need to disable mic clipping. On previous versions of Windows, I simply made sure mic was muted on "playing volume" and enabled on "recording volume".


    But Windows 10 volume control does not allow me to play with mic playing volume. I am working with an app that records voice input and then plays out loud what did it understand. But there is a heavy clipping from the mic to the app. If I could avoid the mic from SOUNDING, the problem would be easier.


    Yes, I could open Audacity or another recording app to choose my recording source and set its volume, but on older windows that was a part of the system just as it is on Mac from the early nineties, so I want to be able to choose the volume from each of my sound input sources.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Hey Dj Urko, I am trying to install the realtek driver and I get the error 0x0001. I have disabled secure boot and Driver signature. I have the latest win 10 build. What am I doing wrong? Can u post the complete list of steps that I have to take? I have an asus z170 with alc1150.
