    Hello Microsoft.

    A few days ago, I bought a new desktop. The PC is from HP, the video card is a GeForce RTX 2060 and both monitors are Samsung CJG52. The main monitor is connected by the DisplayPort input and the second monitor is connected by the HDMI input.

    The problem is occurring with the main monitor. Every time it shuts down, either manually or inactivity, the Windows assumes that the monitor has been unplugged and becomes to work as if it had only one monitor, transferring all windows that were on the primary monitor to the secondary monitor. Which is extremely annoying since I use this computer to work. Every time I go to a meeting, go out for lunch or anything, I need to rearrange all my work software.

    I'm looking for a solution for days, but all I find are posts from years with other users experiencing this same problem, but with no solution. All lead to the same problem with the Monitor Auto Detect.

    What do I need to do for Windows to stop thinking I'm unplugged my monitor?

    I use 3 monitors right now. 2 of them are working great but the main one is having a problem.

    when I turn off my primary monitor (Dell s2716dg) the pc does not recognize the monitor and all my desktop is messed up.

    I found people are talking about disabling the monitor auto detection to solve this problem but I can not find how to disable it.

    Hope you have answers for this problem even if it's not disabling the auto detection and it's another way of solving this problem.

    so PLEASE Microsoft PLEASE enable this regedit fix for disabling monitor auto detection again!

    More or less a follow up post/continuation of the following, as its no longer receiving responses.

    Old Topic

    Monitor Auto Detection plays havoc with multiple monitors, and the offered solution in the other thread (editing a key within TMM) doesn't work in situations where, err, there is no TMM!

    This key and DWORD simply don't exist in my registry editor nor does TMM exist in the Task Scheduler

    Has anyone found a solution to this issue, or alternatively a way to get TMM so as to be able to carry out the change?
