Windows 10: Disable script debugging in MS Edge

The MS Support instructions for Windows 10/Edge are often incorrect. For example, there is no tab available for "internet options" only "advanced settings" which does not have the simple tools available as options that are often needed.


If I get an error message about a "long running script" I am instructed to turn off the debugging. But the instructions in MS Support are almost never correct, the programs have been updated and even those specifically referring to Edge are often wrong.

Script debug messages


Hi

I'm using IE11.0.02 and keep getting a message box that scripts have caused errors do I want to continue running scripts, even when I select No I still get the error, this is making browsing difficult.

I have googled the issue and followed the advice, I have done this

1. Click the Advanced tab, select the Disable script debugging Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other) check boxes.
   
2. Clear the Display a notification about every script error check box, and then click OK.
   
   But that did not fix the problem, if I delete browsing history the problem goes away for a few minutes.
   
   
   How can I fix this problem?

The long-running script error usually occurs when there are issues with Internet Explorer.

To resolve your concern, we suggest turning off the scripting debugger in Internet Explorer 11. Please follow these steps:

• Open Internet Explorer.
• Click the Settings icon at the top-right corner, then select Internet Options.
• On the Advanced tab, uncheck Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) and
  Disable script debugging (Other).
• Click Apply, then OK.

Once done, check if the issue will still persist.

Cannot Diable Script Debugging In Windows 10 IE11

I have have disabled script debugging under internet options. Script debugging errors continue to appear when I open IE 11. I check the internet options and both Disable Script Debugging boxes are still checked. How do I find a way to disable script
debugging?
