    Disabled Credentials Manager Per Microsoft - Computer not loading


    I ran into a problem with my Windows Credentials. I could not load Web Credentials from the control panel. Per Microsoft support, they had the tag/icon, I disabled windows credentials. I was told to reboot then mark it manual again. However, since I have done that the computer is not loading at all.

    Above is my initial complaint. I am assuming I have to somehow enter safemode and reactivate credentials manager then it should boot fine? Any thoughts? One semi-major problem quickly turned into a serious issue with the initial complaint still existing. I am not trying to cross post, this is a new issue all together. Though related.

    Also will my Windows 8, I believe it was startup CD work with this? I did a manual update whenever Win 10 came out (Webupdate) I have no CD. Can I make one?

    Credential Manager causes 2+ hour boot in Windows 10

    I recently discovered a problem where my system would take approximately 2 hours to boot. It did finally come up, but with lots of errors in the boot log. I used msconfig to isolate the offending service, which is Credential Manager. When I disable Credential
    Manager the system starts fine with no errors except two drivers that fail to load because they already loaded successfully a couple of lines before (they are apparently being called twice, but that's another issue). My question, then, is how do I fix the
    conflict with Credential Manager?

    Hi Keith,

    We suggest that you disable Credential Manager before mapping your Drives. Please follow these steps to disable Credential Manager:

    • In the search box type “Services”
    • Right click on “Services” and select “Run as Administrator”
    • In the Services Window, look for Credential Manager Service and click “Stop”.
    • Restart the computer and go back the Credential Manager Service and set it to “Automatic”.
    • Restart the computer again.

    Please keep us updated if you were able to map your drives.
