    Disabled Hyper-V using BCDedit

Ok, Am using an Acer E5 Laptop running Win10 Home. I have used VM for 2+ years to launch a database and I recently started getting an error during launch that said VM could not run with Hyper-V. I ran across a fix that suggested using BCEdit with some lengthy commands to disable Hyper-V. Afterwards I learned that Win10 Home is not available with Hyper-V. But by now my Acer will no longer launch Win10 and the Self repair does not help. I tried using SFC Scan but it did not help. I'm lost and way over my head. Tried to rin DISM but it is not allowed. I also tried an Acer repair flashdrive and tried to install Win10 Pro from a CD but neither would run. I tried to do a system Restore but it cannot find one, even tho I am positive I created one a month ago. Did I create an expensive paperweight? Options? BTW, I can get to the command line and other t'shooting methods, but so far nothing has worked.

    :)

  2. Hyper V deativication

    Hi Geoffrey,

Hyper-V lets you run an operating system or computer system as a virtual machine on Windows. Before proceeding in disabling
Hyper-V, please create a backup of your files for security purposes.

To disable Hyper-V, please follow the steps below:

    • On the Cortana search box, type Turn Windows Features on or off and press
      Enter.
    • Look for the Hyper-V folder.
    • Uncheck the tick-box next to the main Hyper-V folder and click
      OK.
    • Restart your PC.

Should you have further questions, please let us know.
