    Disabling backup and unplugging my external hard drive


    Hello, so recently I stopped my scheduled backup with Backup and Restore Windows 7 since November 2020 because my external hard drive is broken. When I want to turn off the backup option in Backup and Restore Windows 7, there's no button that stop and disable the backup. And when I tried to safely remove and eject my external harddrive, it says that it's still in use by a program. Now how I can disable the backup because I don't want to backup anymore and safely remove and ejects my external harddrive without making me worrying about my pc to quit working anymore? Thanks.

    Free hard drive backup/restore program?

    I am looking for a free (freeware) program that will back up and restore a hard drive. I'm looking to clone a few external hard drives. If the program will backup the used space instead of the whole drive this will be awesome! Thanks for any suggestions.

    Thanks for this. I've done what you suggested and been through all the steps mentioned in the article. The hard drive works fine on a Mac computer, and I've managed to copy the information on it. It must be a Surface issue so I'll try to get a chat line tomorrow.
