  1. Disabling USB ports during WINPE Startup

I am booting a machine into a VHDX image and upon booting into WINPE I perform some copy function to overwrite a differencing disk with another on drive D:\. Sometimes when a usb is connected, the copy command fails.

This leads to me considering disabling the USB ports to avoid this issue. IS THERE A WAY FOR ME TO DISABLE USB PORTS ON WINPE?

    :)

  3. All external usb ports are disabled.

All external usb ports are disabled except the SD card reader. No errors, no messages, device manager says all ports are operating normally. Updated all drivers, rebuilt BCD, fixmbr, fixboot, removed battery and unplugged from power, reinstalled win10
. Performed fixes suggested on internet. HP P.O.S laptop works perfectly except for this. Problem exists from startup to shut down, not one error message! Looking at new laptops. Any suggestions?

    USB Ports

    Hi Homer,

We'd like to ask a few questions to help us isolate this problem.

    • Have you tried connecting your device tracker to a different USB port on your computer?
    • If so, was it detected?
    • Did you receive any error messages?

To address this issue, we suggest that you follow the troubleshooting steps shared by Praveen Venogupal on this

    link
    .

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.
