The disappearance of all my files stored on your PC

Yeah . Software and applications still exist
But nothing special My Profile
No photos
No videos
No Audio
Other files are not

What's the solution ?

Regarding your questions:

• No recent changes were made.
• I have checked any icon having anything to do with folders, but no luck.
• I am the only person using this computer.
• Yes, I think the folders are somehow hidden. The reason I say this is when I click on the "Move to" icon at the top of my screen on the Inbox-Windows Live Mail screen all the folder show up. I can move items from my inbox directly to a folder, but I cannot
  open a folder from there.
• I did check the recycle bin but nothing there.

If the folders are "hidden", is there a way to recover them?

Suddenly the listing of my folders on the left side of the screen has disappeared. can anyone help?

None of that. Anything that is not saved in the computer

What exactly did the Windows install on this computer do? If there was any kind of "format and install" or "replace the current OS" there is going to be a long long hard road to recover your data folders and files. Do not continue using current Windows! As it runs, it deletes, writes, deletes, writes -- possibly endangering recovery of your data folders and files. On another computer, can you make a Puppy Linux usb or dvd boot? I assume you did not make any backups before this happened?

sounds like you may have logged in on another account, or more likely logged in on a non microsoft linked account instead of your microsoft linked account.

meaning that you have all the same apps and software as any other login but none of the personal files... just a guess.

 

Previous posters reminded me -- I totally forgot about the AppData/My Document combine for each account. I hope you will discover your folders and files real soon!

Change View to show details
Right click any column heading
press More.. at he bottom of the list
Scroll down to and select File Path
Sort the search results by File Path (left click the column heading)




Is the Folder Path C:\Windows.old for your files?
There will be files in the search results that are in Windows, Program Files, etc.
You are only interested in finding where your files are located.
Figuring out what folder or folders the files are in will determine what to do next.
