Windows 10: Disappearing mail

I "lost" a long mail, just as I saw that it was the annual long chat from a friend. I went to click to enlarge it into the "read" window and it disappeared. I searched everywhere, although the deleted folder could be the only place for it to hide in Mail. None of the help agencies could answer my question - they all dealt with mail sent to the deleted folder. Then, suddenly, it reappeared. It had been carefully filed away under the folder for another sender with a similar Christian name. I would never have found it until next I sent or received mail to the other person.


In previous systems there were lots of (self-made) useful folders. The fancy new clever system of Mail is tooooo clever, and hides things whilst trying to be helpful.


Question 1 - How can I share this information with others who might have the same problem.


Question 2 - Please could Microsoft not be so smart...or maybe...I should ask how do I disable this unhelpful over-efficient secretary? I would be much happier doing things myself.


Question 3 - Is it possible to make new folders? Sometimes I need to file things under "later" but without them sitting in "drafts". eg "couriers" for archiving notes to and from UPS, DPD, Hermes, etc.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Mail disappears

After downloading Windows 10, when I click on the Mail icon, my mail account appears very briefly and then disappears.

Suggestions on how to fix it?

I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused
Go figure!
