I cloned my small drive to a new one and installed it. The machine rexognizes it in the boot directory, but it will not boot. I get an error message that as file is missing or corrupt. The file is \WINDOWS\System32\winload.efi. The error code is 0xc000000e.

I have downloaded an installation disk and tried to repair windows. I can fix the mbr, but when I try /fixboot, I get access denied.

How do I fix this? If I reinstall Win 10, will I lose everything else on the drive?

Do you have Macrium Rescue media you can boot from and try its "Fix boot problems"?

The rescue medium is on the same thumb drive as the windows installation files. When I try to boot from it, it goes straight to the windows install screen.

I was away from my machine, but I think downloading the Win 10 media wiped out the rescue media.

If it were me, I'd recreate the Macrium Reflect rescue flash drive and use it's fix booting options. Also, at this point it would be a good idea to make a complete disk image of ALL partitions of the small disk just to be safe. If the fix boot options in Macrium don't work, try restoring all partitions of the image (NOT clone) to the large disk and see if that boots.

Can I recreate resdcue flas drive from another computer? Thatr one runs 10 Home and the one that won't boot runs 10 Pro.

Yes, but you'll need to install Macrium (Free version fine) on that PC to create the rescue flash. How similar are the two computers? You will probably have good functionality booting the one computer from rescue made on another but just thought I'd ask in case there's a hitch.

Safest to use the option for both MBR and UEFI bootable. See step 5 here: https://knowledgebase.macrium.com/di...g+rescue+media

If there is any hitch, it won't be due to any difference between Home and Pro.

Using rescue media created on another machine worked fine along with Reflect's fix boot option. Thanks for your help.
