Windows 10: Disk drive isn't recognized

Hello. I am trying to use an external hard drive to free up some space on my computer.

However, when I plugged it in via USB, there was no pop up window, and I could not find it in the documents.

I am using a windows 10 laptop and a SP Silicon power drive.

I read other people's questions about this, and so far have done the following:

1. Entered Disk management- my hard drive IS shown here.
2. Change Drive letter and paths- when I right click on my drive, it does not show that I can change the drive letter.
3. Entered Device Manager- from here I have uninstalled my drive from both the universal serial bus controllers and the disk drives drop down menu.
4. Restart Computer- I restarted my computer after doing this, and connected the disk again. The problem was not solved.
5. Check if disk is working- I entered the disk's properties, and It says that "This device is working properly.", however it is still not being shown. I checked the events and it says Device not migrated, then Device configured(disk.inf), then Device started(disk).

It appears as online, healthy (active, primary partition) and does not need to be plugged in externally.

I am not sure what else to do. I'm considering just replacing it entirely, however I bought it about a year ago and i'm not even sure I can.

Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

 

Disk Drive isn't being detected

I had my disk drive working and then I did the stupid thing of unpluging it to move some cords around that were in they way and now it wont work. Any suggestions? Ive tried unpluging it and repluging it in multiple times, still get nothing.

 

help. USB drive isn't assigned a drive letter.

Any usb flash drive I plug into my computer isn't assigned a drive letter. The physical drive shows in the "safely remove hardware" but it doesnt show up in disk management. I have tried to populate the volume thru the safely remove hardware properties window and it does pop up in the list but it doesn't stay there. This isn't a format or assign a letter problem. It's more complicated then that. Maybe one of the services needed for usb drive management was disabled? Suggestions needed. btw external usb harddrives work fine.
