Disk partitions left behind from ubuntu dual boot can't be removed

    Hello,

Due to COVID-19 I had to dual-boot my laptop with Ubuntu so that I could work from home. I am now back at work and have uninstalled Ubuntu, or well, parts of it. My disk partitions can't be touched at all. Every tutorial on the internet tells me to delete the disk partitions used by Ubuntu, but whenever I right click one of the disks the only option I get is "help".

A lot of other solutions online has involved diskpart and using the "delete partition override" command, but the only response I receive when using that command is that "the action is not supported by the object" and "The specified command is not supported on this system"

I've tried using several other third party applications like EaseUS, AOMEI, MiniTool, and etc. but paying $30 minimum for a single useful tool is the absolute last resort for me. The computer has also been wiped since, but the partitions still remain.

I apologize for the picture being in Swedish, I'll gladly translate if required. The disk in question is D:

I want to delete the two primary partitions the ones that only display help and then extend D: to take up the full 931 GB

Thanks for any help I can get

    :)

  2. Uninstall Ubuntu Dual boot and Repairing Dual Boot in Windows 10

    Hello.

I had dual-booted my Dell laptop which came with preinstalled Windows 10. I had dual booted with Ubuntu 16.04 by creating a partition on the disk. To remove this dual boot, i.e. I only wanted to keep Windows 10, I formatted the disk, drive F(in my case),
where Ubuntu was stored. But, now whenever I boot my system, a black grub screen comes with the following message:

"Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device completions.

    grub> _"

Upon writing 'exit', I am able to enter Windows.

    1. I wish to know the reason behind it and how it can be removed.

    2. I found this site, Uninstall Ubuntu Dual boot, I went ahead and performed all the steps. But somehow
    ended up with this error.

Also, I saw your reply on this thread Repairing Dual Boot in Windows 10.
But it did not help me to remove my error. I will really appreciate your help in removing this error.

    Thank you.

    dual boot xp and ubuntu

I had that problem a few months ago, but dual-booting is really easy. I am currently dual-booting Vista and Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. Use this website here for a guide to dual-booting XP and Ubuntu: APC's July issue is on sale now! | TechRadar (I actually did not use this guide at all, but I did pretty much the same thing!)

If you are unable to get your boot working with this guide, reply to this message, and I will write out a step-by-step guide, but it will involve you already having a partition set out for XP (as in you are not already using your entire hard drive space for XP alone.) Even though I write the guide with experience from Vista, it will work with XP

Disk partitions left behind from ubuntu dual boot can't be removed

Resized Partitions on Dual-boot Windows with Ubuntu 18.04, Windows crashes on startup

I was trying to make more room on my Windows 10 partition, so I used Gparted Live to reduce partition size by 6GB of the Ubuntu boot. The Ubuntu will still boot, but the Windows partition boots with a blue, sad face screen. I get the windows error of 0xc0000225
when starting up. I did not move the left side of the Windows partition, only expanded it, and the partition had at least 60Gb of free space in it. There were no errors while partitioning the boots with Gparted Live.

Gparted Live cannot access the partition, although I can access Windows through Ubuntu and all files are accounted for. The Ubuntu grub for dual-boot does open up. Everything works fine, I can see the Windows partition, though when I open it, it crashes.
Both partitions are, I think, legacy BIOS, not UEFI.

I have tried to download a Windows 10 recovery disk onto my USB, though couldn't figure how to run it on ubuntu to use it for Windows.
