Windows 10: disk structure is corrupt and unreadable

this is what the msinfo thing tells me... at this point if theres anyway i can just get the files off the drive and then reformat it or something that would be fine

 

These are trusted programs, they offer a trial or free version and a $$ version, but the
free version may only offer limited functionality. You can give them a try.

All of them need a separate drive (other than the damaged drive) to recover the files to.
Your system drive will do, as long as there's enough space.

Or you can try the Linux Live disk,mentioned earlier.

BY the way, which OS are you using, Windows 10? This may limit some of the earlier-mentioned
tools. If you want to try HDHacker, Testdisk,
attach the USB drive to an XP PC and try HDHacker and the others from there.

 

so i am trying one of the programs you said to use and its been running for 24 hours and is at 26%? there isnt even 1tb worth of stuff on there? so do i wait or try something else

 

If the MFT or other NTFS structures are damaged, it's possible because it would have to do brute force, going through every sector. But it does seem like a long time. All operations at this point would be read only, so no further damage is being done.

If it was me, first I would have connected the drive to an XP box and got off the MBR with HDhacker and taken a look at it. Then you could have seen whether anything obvious was found or not, for example the
partition table being overwritten - Testdisk could possiblyfix this.

Perhaps get a different opinion? Toms forum is well established.
