Windows 10: Disk uage is always 100% eventhough no apps are running

I have recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming. It is:

Core i5 9300H 2.5 ghz

Nvidia Gefore Gtx 1650 4GB

8GB Ram

1TB HDD 5400rpm


I was suffering at first from disk 100% issue then I sent it to be fixed.

They replaced the WD hard drive with a Segate one.

For the first 2 days, the issue seemed to be solved. The disk was never 100%


then I tried to update Windows 10 to the 1903 build because the Nvidia driver requires the latest update of the Windows you are running.


The problem appeared once again. on the 1803 and the 1903 builds. ALWAYS 100%.

I even downgraded to the 1709 once again. And same 100%.


Please DONOT tell me to stop the superfetch. I need real solutions.

I thought of installing hackintosh instead of windows but the only thing blocking me from doing this that I don't have a 16 GB flash drive to boot up from.

Disk Usage at 100% with nothing running

My PC is running Windows 10 with the latest updates but has suddenly become unusable with disk usage staying at 100% even with nothing running and just the same processes listed in Task Manager as before the problems
started. I've tried a few suggestions found in online forums - disabling Windows Search and Superfetch, adjusting page file size, etc. but nothing has done the trick yet. I don't have any outside anti-virus software installed. I read about the potential MSI
issue but don't have IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers listed in the Device Manager. Finally, it seems to boot up normally and will have periods where the disk usage drops and it's usable but those moments are brief and it inevitably goes back up to 100% usage.

I've seen that article. and I am in fact not running that driver. I followed the steps and it does not appear in the list.

In the Task Manager, under Performance tab, the disk utilization reaches to 100% due to which system became lagging and unresponsive. It started freezing in few moments and this keeps happening until disk usage reduces from 100%.

Control panel > Power Options > Edit Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings > Processor Power Management > Maximum Processor state.

Also, once I start Chrome 64, it uses lots of cpu and ram to do absolutely nothing.

This is caused by a common combination of Skype as well Google Chrome. Similar issue with other programs could also cause 100% disk usage. To fix this do the following
