    Disk Usage 100% Windows 10 Home


    My PC performance went down significantly and I have been noticing 100% disk usage on Task Manager inspite of low activity. Fan noise is loud and noticeable. I have tried multiple methods ranging from stopping Windows search service to even checking for MSI mode as noted in this forum. My PC AHCI controller driver is a different file and so I didnot attempt that method. Bottomline: I have not been successful in fixing this problem. I welcome any suggestions if you guys have.

    100% disk usage

    The most common cause of 100% disk usage appears to be Superfetch and Prefetch, but there are also other causes. You can try disabling both these features and see if it helps.
