Windows 10: Display Calibration Not Loading on Boot

Hi, I have encountered a strange problem with my pc regarding the display calibration and need some help.


I have calibrated my display the day I bought it and my pc. Then, every time I start my computer, the display calibration would be set to default. But once I open the "calibrate display colour" window and close it without calibrating the display again, the display calibration suddenly loads again. My graphics driver and windows version are up to date, and this action has become quite the nuisance in my everyday workflow, so some advice would be much appreciated.


My system is running a Ryzen 5 3600 and GTX 1660 Super.

Display Color Calibration

We appreciate the detailed information. You can try uninstalling the driver in Device Manager and reboot the device. After the restart the system will automatically install the driver, then you can try to

calibrate the display again.

If you don't want to uninstall the driver, we suggest that you try the below steps:

• Go to Color Management using Search or Cortana.
• Click on Advanced tab.
• Select Change system defaults.
• On the new window, click on the “Advanced” tab on the upper side of the window.
• Now you will need to check the box next to “Use Windows default calibration”.
• Left click or tap on the “Close” button.
• Left click on the “Devices” tab you have on the upper side of the window.
• Select the “Set as default profile”.
• Reboot the device and see if your calibrate screen feature is okay now.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, I would suggest you to install latest display driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps. If Windows 10 drivers are not available in the computer manufacturer website,
you may install the latest display drivers in compatibility mode.



To install the display driver
in compatibility mode, I would suggest you to follow these steps.



a. Download the latest display driver for Windows 10 from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

b. Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

c. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

d. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and
select Windows 8 from the drop down list.

e. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.
