Windows 10: Display driver nvlddmkm stops &recovers, ntdll.dll error when on Skype

Usually happens when I'm on Skype. Display Driver warning shows up in Event Viewer, then, often, Skype crashes with the Application Error saying:

After weeks of errors like "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" which i could solve by updating my motherboard firmware, new issue's appear..

Clean windows install..

everything working normal after installing the normal programs.. adobe reader, skype...

first graphics crash when launching a game

then the errors.. "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." started to keep appearing

it was bad even when i started a program my display freezed.

could only solve this by applying a system restore to a point before i lauched the game for the first time.

Windows did work again fine, however the nvlddmkm error only appeared again when trying to launch the game like "World of warschips"

after upgrading my motherboard firmware the nvlddmkm was solved only to get another error.

Application has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware.

EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 SC ACX2.0 4gb videocard with 600W power supplly (only 400W needed according EVGA)

 

Run the DM log collector for troubleshooting.
It will collect: msinfo32, dxdiag, mini dumps, hosts, install, uninstall, drivers, services, event viewer logs, etc.

Here's the result from running the DM tool

The logs displayed problems with:
1) Intel wireless
2) Nvidia graphics
3) Fast startup
4) Drive
5) BSOD with bugcheck WHEA 0x124

The DM log collector did not collect the MSINFO32.
In left lower corner search type msinfo32 > wait 5 minutes for it to load > save to desktop as NFO file > use share link to post into thread



For all tests please post images into the thread.
If there are any problems posting images please use one drive or drop box share links.

1) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
2) sfc /scannow
3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
4) chkdsk /scan
5) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

6) Run HDTune: HD Tune website
to check the health,
scan for errors, no quick scan but full scan
run a benchmark.
It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following
the health,
the error scan,
the benchmark incl. following
transfer rate,
access time,
burst rate,
cpu usage.

7) Open the website for the computer's drivers.
Post a URL or hyperlink into the thread for each the drivers and the bios.

9) The best way to fix the misbehaving Nvidia driver is to uninstall everything Nvidia using Display driver uninstaller and install new drivers from the computer manufacturer's website or from the Nvidia website.The computer manufacturer's web site is preferred.
Enter the computer's serial or product number and the operating system to view available drivers.
If you use the Nvidia web site be sure the "clean install" box is checked and only install the graphics driver and the physx driver.

10) Run memtest86+ version 5.01 for at least 8 passes.

12) Turn off Windows fast startup:

13) If you use Ccleaner > click windows tab > scroll down to system and advanced > post an image into the thread14) In the left lower corner search type clean > open disk cleanup > scroll up and down > post images into the thread
15) In the left lower corner search type: system or system control > open system control panel > on the left pane click advanced system settings
> on the advanced tab under startup and recovery click settings > post an image of the startup and recovery into the thread.

a) hardware and devices troubleshooter
b) network adapter
c) video playback

I had this exact problem with Skype (similar looking dmp anyway). I found the proposed solution was graphics drivers but as I couldn't upgrade them (mine being from 2010), using the legacy Skype worked better than either web or built in store app. By worked better I mean didn't crash my PC.

There are a lot of threads on Skype forums about this but anyway try using a different access method and see if it works - for me legacy Skype worked and the others didn't. If you can upgrade (or downgrade) your graphics drivers then try that too.

I'm not BSOD person - just an observation from my experience. Something has changed in Skype recently and it demands faster response from GPU.

So I updated my Nvidia driver and noticed I've already had 3 BSODs

 

There were 3 new BSOD.
The graphics driver was a recurrent misbehaving driver.
Three bugchecks were D1.

It is unclear at this time whether the Nvidia driver is or is not the cause of the WHEA 0x124 BSOD.
None of the new BSOD where WHEA.
For the Nvidia related bsod use DDU again and roll back to an older driver.

Indicate whether the operating system has or does not have the option to turn off the updates of non-Microsoft drivers:
(If it does then turn off Windows updates of non-Microsoft drivers)
Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10 Windows Update Activation Tutorials

If the rolled back Nvidia graphics card driver is stable then the troubleshooting will be completed for the Nvidia driver.
If the Nvidia driver continues to produce BSOD after it is rolled back the next test will be a swap.
See if you can find a friend, neighbor, relative, or local store to swap the graphics card.
Perform 2 tests: Test the graphics card in another computer and test another computer's graphic card in the problematic computer.
