Windows 10: Display "Other user" login option, but keep a certain user shown.

I enabled the "Interactive logon : Don't display last signed in" option, to enable the "other user" login option, but I want to keep a certain user to display on my login page, is there anything I could do to allow this? Like it shows "User 1", and then "Other user" for example.

Local user disappeared frin login options after upgrade

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I was unable to fix the issue. Here are my steps:

• I've uninstalled the last 3 updates (the ones from september):
  
  • however, they keep getting reinstalled:
    

• I've added two new users: one from the GUI, the other as you suggested in step 2:
  
  • They are listed under users;
    
• I've also booted in safe mode just to check.
  

I still have no way to login other than with the main account. No local users are available at login or when I go to start menu and click on my user.

Windows users at login

I cannot see all of my user accounts on the login screen on a new Windows 10 laptop. I have an account for my son and it does not appear as a user on the login screen. It is listed if I display the users with the CMD prompt. The only account I see is my
account which is an admin. His account is a user. All the suggestions I've seen are not available on home edition.

To address the issue of having two login options for the same user on Windows 11, you can follow these steps to disable the duplicate login options and resolve the error message:

1. Disable Automatic Login:
   
   • Open the Settings app.
     
   • Navigate to Accounts > Sign-in options.
     
   • Scroll down to Additional settings and toggle off the option "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up after an update".
     
2. Use netplwiz to Manage User Accounts:
   
   • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
     
   • Type netplwiz and press Enter.
     
   • In the User Accounts window, ensure the box "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" is checked. If it is unchecked, check it and click Apply.
     
   • Restart your computer to apply the changes.
     
3. Edit Registry Settings (if necessary):
   
   • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
     
   • Type regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
     
   • Navigate to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device.
     
   • Find the entry "DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion" and set its value to 0.
     
   • Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.
     

Additional Tips

• Check for Duplicate Accounts:
  
  • Sometimes, duplicate accounts can appear due to incorrect configurations. Ensure that there are no duplicate entries in the User Accounts settings or the Registry.
    
• Use Group Policy (for Advanced Users):
  
  • If your PC is part of a domain, you can use Group Policy to manage login settings. Open the Group Policy Management Console and navigate to Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options. Enable the policy "Interactive logon: Do not display last user name" to prevent the display of multiple user options.
