Windows 10: Display scattered

Discus and support Display scattered in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; I am facing a display scattered issue. It happens frequently.     Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



    1. Are you aware of any changes being made to the PC?
    2. Which version of Windows 10 you are using currently?
    3. Are you using a HDMI cable or a VGA cable to connect the display?
    4. How are you re-arranging the icons?
    5. Have you tried connecting the display first and then switching on the PC?


    I suggest you to try the steps mentioned below and check if that helps.



    Method 1:



    Try aligning the icons to grid.



    1. Right click on the desktop and click on View.
    2. Now click on auto arrange icons and click on
      align icons to grid.


    Method 2:



    Try updating the display and monitor drivers. Refer the article
    update drivers in Windows 10    .

    In reply to your questions:

    1. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by changes, but i do install and uninstall different software quite a bit, although not much in terms of video driver things.

    2. I'm running Windows 10 home, Version 1803.

    3. I've used both HDMI and VGA, both separately and at the same time, i still have the problem.

    4. I drag and drop the icons to move them, if that's what you're asking.

    5. Yes, and i log in to find the icons are still scattered.

    My icons are, and have been set to "align icons to grid." they still scatter.

    Windows says that all my display drivers are up to date.

    Edit:

    I've just tried uninstalling my display driver and letting it reinstall, icons still scatter.

    I tried changing the resolution of the second display down to 1600x900, and the problem is "fixed", but is

    way too blurry.

    Emails are getting scattered with existing emails

    OT- email

    Recently my new emails are interspersed with existing emails. Formerly the new ones were always at the top of the list---now they are scattered through the list of emails. Is there a way I can correct this?
