Windows 10: Display screen will not shut off at designated time

Discus and support Display screen will not shut off at designated time in Windows 10 Performance & Maintenance to solve the problem; It doesn't matter what time I change it to, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, the display monitor won't turn off.     Display screen will not shut off at designated time


    It doesn't matter what time I change it to, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, the display monitor won't turn off. I'm guessing it is one of the recent Windows 10 updates since this is a recent problem. Any help will be appreciated, It's getting old turning off the monitor manually. Thanks.

    Hi,

    To increase the display timeout, I suggest that you follow the steps below:

    • Select Desktop and click Personalization.
    • Select Lock Screen, then Click on Screen time out settings.
    • Change the required time in the drop down under Screen.

    Thank you Ron; but that is the first thing I did when I installed the operating system. That was the fist thing I did on any operating system I installed. Even though, I did it again just to make sure; no luck. Besides, the screen "shuts off" at different
    times. I believe it a Malware program. Any suggestions?

    It is important that you have the correct screen display and resolution. We suggest that you perform the following steps to reset the monitor settings:

    • Boot your computer in
      safe mode      .
    • Once in safe mode, right-click the desktop > Screen Resolution.
    • Change the display settings back to the original configuration.
    • Restart your computer.
