Windows 10: Display settings aren't resetting

I turned on the "use 3d display" and now my laptop screen and monitor has a black screen. It flickers for half a second for about 2 minutes before cutting the signal to the monitor and using only my laptop screen using basic display drivers.I tried reinstalling both amd and nvidia drivers did a clean install and tried DDU as well, did this a couppe of times. But the problem persists, I read a previous post and tried deleting the subkeys from the mentioned paths but that didn't help either. My laptop boots up fine but the moment my monitor is connected it goes black and flickers for once ever

Icons from apps aren´t displayed correctly






The native apps from the system are all showing this strange square instead of the normal icons. Please help resolve this problem. Thanks

Do the apps work fine apart form the icons not displaying correctly? If so I would suggest you to run an SFC scan and check if it helps. If the issue persists you may run DISM command and check.

Follow this steps:

    Press Windows+X.
    
  • 
    Click on Command Prompt (Admin).
    
  • 
    Type the command SFC /SCANNOW and
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit
    Enter.

To reset the settings back to default, follow these steps:

• Go to your desktop, right click and select Display Settings.
• Choose the appropriate settings from the options under Display.
