Windows 10: DLL

I asked about this in another thread but I didn't explain why I need to know about this. I am working on fixing an app that was created by a person that is no longer here. Since I was the one that worked closely with him, they felt I should be the one to fix the app. He taught me about going in to the DLL or the registry to fix things in the code. I just cant remember how to get to the DLL or the registry. This app is a very important function in my work cell and I need to get this fixed and fast.

The problem is, that the required DLL is not actually even listed there.
There are just dozens of download adware links from the top to the bottom.

I actually posted the link for the "list of troubleshooting steps to resolve your boost_threads.dll problems" which is located half way down the page. I did not mean to promote any downloads.

Why don't I just go back and indicate that on my original post? That way there's access to the 'step-by-step' instructions, which are accessed via those green 'plus' signs next to the topics.

  What application does the .dll belongs to?

  Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software?
  
• 
  Aside from downloading and installing the .dll file, what other troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
