Windows 10: Do all retail Pro versions come with 32 bit/64 bit options?

Afternoon everyone.A few months back MS offered me Windows 11 but my WIndows 10 Pro x64 bit sys did not meet the spec.I have since upgraded and when I come to install the downloaded saved for later or the freshly downloaded versions they are both home??I can see retail versions of Win 11 pro but cannot see the 64 bit version.So my question if I buy Win 11 pro licence will it enable the install of both 32 bit and 64 bit versions?many thanks in advance ;

If the system architect is 32 bit, then you can’t install 64 bit version of windows in it. I suggest you to run “winver” by pressing Windows + R, and check the version and bit.

There are some games that you can install it in 32 bit as well.

Windows 10 is the free upgrade for those users who has genuine key for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 , normally it doesn't require activation, it's gets activated automatically, in case if you face an issue with activation the you can get back to

Because the Media Creation Tool will usually contain both 32 and 64 bit versions along with a mix of Pro and Home, so if you have a mix of systems you want to upgrade and switch up like you are planning to do now.

Installing an Upgrade Version of Windows 7 64 bit over XP 32 bit


You can upgrade XP Pro 32-bit to Windows 7 Pro 32-bit(you don't need XP installed) and then do the free upgrade from Windows 7 Pro 32-bit to Windows 10 Pro 32-bit. Make sure each OS is activated before going to the next step. If you want to use the 64-bit version of 10, you can now do a refresh reinstall of Windows 10 Pro 64-bit by booting from the install DVD/USB flash drive you made with the Media Creation Tool. Make sure 10 is activated after the reinstall.

Using the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Pro should also work, but I'd do a clean install of 10 Pro 64-bit either way. It's not clear from your post what you have. Do you have both an upgrade version of Windows 7 32-bit and an OEM version of Windows 7 64-bit? If so you're better off upgrading the upgrade version of 7 to 10 because you'll be under Retail licensing for 10 rather than OEM licensing. Retail licensing will allow you to move your copy of Windows 10 to another computer. OEM is tied to the machine forever.
