    Do I have Virus?

Hi, I bought a new HP laptop about 3 months ago, and initially I was using the Edge browser and Windows Defender with Malwarebytes free version. I started getting full page adds popping up on the screen for porn and gambling websites so I installed Firefox with Addblocker Ultimate and the Free version of Bitdefender along with Malwarebytes free and they have not found any Virus on the laptop.

I am still getting these adds and would really like to get rid of them for good. I ran IObit uninstaller and found this file installed, ryGyft2PJF3aW6 version 1.0
I did a search online but there is very little information on the internet regarding this file. Do you think this is a Virus is it safe to delete it?
    regards,Ron

    :)

Cant connect my android phone to windows 10

Win 10 Home 64Bit also didn't recognize my Umi plus V3.02_20170613 latest Build. The connection light keeps blinking like the is being access but somehow the handshake or the DRM authentication didn't work.

On my old Win 7 pro 64bit PC, there is no such problem. The Umi plus is recognized instantly.

Now Bill Gate said he is using an Android phone. Who would be so kind and go ask him how did he get it to work. Cause this is a prolonged issue Microsoft. Do I need to get my older Win 7 PC out of storage and use that instead?

I will try with other Android phone and devices, including Apple iPad if this happen to them too.

I am very disappointed, this is a major flaw that should have been iron out long ago.

If no av is picking it up check for add-ons as it may be one of them also check what's running at startup

Malware often uses random names for its files, so you're unlikely to identify it by name. I'd do a scan with AdwCleaner.

I have been using Open DNS for years, along with paid versions or Norton and Malwarebytes, no need of any of the Ad-aware cleaners or other similar products.

    Additionally, reset the browsers themselves.

Very unlikely to be a virus, these boxes/screens of Cons/Ads are basically put up by something in your temporary Web Browser files/Cache. Sometimes they can be locked requiring a Ctrl+Alt+Del to Exit to Task Manager, and then stop the Web Browser processes.

Whatever, clearing your Web Browser caches will generally work. Knowing how to do this is a basic essential when using a Web Browser.
Just as a further check run your AV, Malware scanners, ADWcleaner etc.

  10. If you got infected by something that I suspect it is, no Antivirus nor ADblocker nor other type of malware scanner/remover will ever remove it completely.

You most likely need professional help, or someone who knows exactly how to track down and eliminate those nasty BUGS. The problem is that no antimalware application recognize these types of malware as malicious, thus they do nothing about them.

I've done it multiple times and I'm telling you, it can be really tricky. One need to manually force kill services, block executables, edit registry multiple times and reboot computer a couple of times.

It can be done, but can be really tough.

Your other option is to backup your important documents and files and finally just factory reset your Windows and start from scratch.

Hi slicendice, what kind of "virus" do you suspect, it may be helpful to know ...

Would a reinstall/system reset not be enough for the OP to solve the problem?

    thanks.

  12. Those BUGS go with different names, which I don't remember and most of them does not even have a name.

Yes, a full system reset that wipes everything and enters the initial Windows state as it was the day the computer was purchased, would solve the problem, but one HAVE TO REMEBER TO BACKUP ALL IMPORTANT FILES FIRST, or they will be lost forever.

    Do I have Virus?

    Hi.
Browser redirectors and hijackers typically manifest the symptoms the OP is describing, and can many times be gotten rid of fairly easily, i.e., removing toolbars, clearing cache, resetting browsers, flushing DNS, etc. Although some can be difficult, most of the time they can be gotten rid of without resorting to a clean install.
