    Do I need KB3206632...for my Win 10 home 64bit

It would not install. 5 failures eating my allowed data. Downloaded Brink's files to reset WU and tried again last night during my free zone. KB 3213986 downloaded and installed fine but not KB 3206632. I now have build 14393.693. Do I need to download KB 3206632 and install it also? WU says I am up to date. Before this downlaod I was having issues typing text as the cursor would jump up to a previous sentence. Thought is was my mail client Thunderbird but then it also did in in Dreamweaver typing text for a web site. Seems to be OK since the latest update. I have been keeping my laptop set as a metered connection to avoid downloads during the day and turn that off after midnight to download during my freezone. Also can anyone tell me are the Win 10 OS downloads at MS downloads are kept current with these constant cumulative updates. I want to create a new ISO and clean install at some point. This laptop built in 2016 started out with the RTM Win 10 home. Going to upgrade to pro and will do a clean install. Trying to make it easier to schedule WU downloads. 256GB SSD, I7 6500U 8GB DDR3

How to get a copy of the correct edition of Windows 10

Original Title: win 10 pro 64bit

I did a free upgrade from win 7 pro 64bit to win 10 pro 64bit quite a while ago. I want to do a clean install so I am trying to download a copy of win 10 pro 64bit to a dvd using the media creation tool, but win 10 pro is not on the list, only win
10, win 10 home, and win 10 N. It shows on my systems page that I am running win 10 pro 64bit. How can I get a copy of the correct edition?

Win 7 32bit oem Home premium to Win 10 64bit Home

    Hi,

I have win 7 32bit oem Home premium that comes with my PC without the installation disk (only key available).

I would like to switch to 64bit especially when windows 10 is available since my system is totally compatible with 64 bit. One way I hoping to do this is to upgrade my 32bit win 7 to 32bit win 10 and then doing a clean install to upgrade to 64bit win 10.

Will I still get to activate the 64bit win 10 for free if I do it this way?

Hello gcwizard and welcome to TenForums *Smile

Cumulative updates are just that - they include all the new changes so now that you have successfully updated with KB3213986 you will automatically have all the updates from previous updates so you are good to go!

The Microsoft downloads are updated so you will get the latest ISO and all you will need is the most recent cumulative update to be up to date.

    Hope this helps!

Yes that helps. It saves me from another late night download or a trip to town. Excede satellite internet as I have no access to wired broadband or microwave. I built a house in 2016 in a remote Alaskan village on the Bering Sea coast and it had DSL and village wide WiFi and here my options are dial up or satellite. Cell service is very weak also. I have 2 home based businesses and need internet service. I have 8.1 pro in my desktop and have made new ISO's for each edition of it. Not sure if the media creation tool creates a bootable usb so I just download the OS file and use Rufus to create a bootable usb drive. One last question. If I reformat and install 10 pro does windows create another Win RE partition with the new OS install. This is a Dell laptop and has a factory image on it to reset to. I would like to replace it with the new OS as well. I am researching how to do checksum to confirm that I have the full download without corrupted files. I may try to buy a factory copy from MS to be sure it is all there if they still sell these. I am not an IT pro but do know how to do command prompts for DISM and sfc etc. Learned alot since I had an OEM win 8.0 that eventually became the latest 8.1 pro. 2 year nightmare that ended up as a pretty good OS. Thanks!

I recommend doing a clean install of W10 and if you do this and delete all the existing partitions during the installation then W10 creates a new System Reserved Partition. The System Reserved partition is used for the Boot Manager code, BCD (Boot Configuration Database), System Recovery Options (Windows RE), and start up files for BitLocker (if turned on).

A tutorial explaining all this is here.
