The only hardware changes that can negatively impact activation status once you upgrade to free version are the changes to the:

• CPU
• TPM
• Motherboard replacement

The following changes are examples of hardware changes that will NOT impact the activation status:

• HDD/SSD
• Video card
• Adding extra memory

Hey Dj Urko, I am trying to install the realtek driver and I get the error 0x0001. I have disabled secure boot and Driver signature. I have the latest win 10 build. What am I doing wrong? Can u post the complete list of steps that I have to take? I have an asus z170 with alc1150.

• How exactly are you trying to upgrade to Windows 10? Is it through Windows updates or through Media Creation tool?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to update Display Adapter driver and also update all the pending Windows updates. Then check if you are able to upgrade to Windows 10.



Step 1: I recommend
you to update the latest driver for display adapter in the Device Manager and check if it helps.

1. Press Windows Key + R Key.

2. Then type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on
Enter Key.

3. Expand Display Adapter.

4. Right click on the driver and click on Update Driver Software.

Step 2: I suggest update all the pending Windows update and check if it helps.

1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button


2. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click
Windows Update.

3. On the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.
