Windows 10: Dobly atmos

hi, my Microsoft surface book 2 is not enabled Dolby atoms premium by default. Instead, it showed only Realtek high definition audio SST.

Dolby Atmos

We would like to confirm if you have check if you Dolby Atmos can be dectect by your computer?

We suggest that you check if its being detected by following these steps:

• At the bottom right side of your screen, where the Time and date can also be located, look for the
  sound icon.
• Right click on the sound icon, a smaill window will pop up with the Sound
  menus.
• Click on the Playback Devices.
• The Sound window will appear with the Playback
  tab.
• Look for Dolby Atmos to make sure that it is properly installed.

If its not on the list in Playback Devices, kindly check if its listed in Device Manager by:

• From the Start menu, type in Device Manager, then
  Enter.
• Then click the Sound, video and game controllers driver.
• Look for Dolby Atmos, then right click on it, then click
  Unintall.
• Once done, remove your Dolby Atmos device and restart you computer.
  

After your computer has restarted and your are in the Desktop screen of your computer, connect your Dolby Atmos device. It should automatically be installed in your computer by giving you prompts. Once successfully installed, kindly check if it is detected
now by you computer in Playback Devices.

Dolby Atmos for Headphones

microsoft dolby atmos bitstream out is totally free, but dolby atmos headphone virtualization is usd15 add on, which honestly sound MEH.. at best.. compare to razer own, or any dobly headphone or dts x app built in for most gaming headphone, good example are logitech g933 series with their dts x headphones, which takes pure multichannel sound source to convert to a stereo virtual matrix, its sound very very close to the real thing.

 

Need a hand on Win10's Atmos enable on Dobly Access APP, very strange!

Hey everyone,

I just downloaded/enabled Dolby Access APP on Win10(ver 1709),

Also I have a atmos receiver Yamaha 681

A GTX 1060 hdmi

Issues:

1) After enabled Atmos APP, my receiver displayed as Dolby Digital+ sometimes, and DTS TureHD at another time, but NO atmos displayed once.

2) When I check my playback device's properties, I could see a tab there called "Supported Formats", in there listed many formats in "Encoded Formats" sub-tab. I can see DTS/DTS-HD/Dolby Digital Plus/Dolby TureHD/Dolby Digital, but NO Atmos or DTX-X.

I confirmed that my receiver has Atmos and DTS-X support.

Question:

1) If my computer hardware/software has correct support for ATMOS, should playback device's properties will displayed Atmos?

2) When I play Dolby Access APP's samples video, my receiver was displayed as Dolby Digital +, Why?
