Windows 10: Does anyone have a work around for the latest security update?

My laptop is unable to connect to the GUI on another device since the last windows update. We need this to work in order to change specifications on our other devices on a regular basis. We normally connect the laptop to the device, change the adapter settings to what's needed for the device we want to program. We enter the appropriate IP in a browser and are taken to the devices log in page. None of this works since the last windows update. We just get a timeout message. Very frustrating.

That made me so facepalm. Some people have absolutely no clue. I hope they don't take you for granted with all this you're doing for them.

SonicWall is a good security product, so Mindweaver's suggestion sounds like a good one and should make for a rather bigger baby step. Let's hope they take it.

 

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

USB 2 devices not reading after win 10 upgrade, latest INF driver installed.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to go to Manufacturer web site and download and install the latest chipset driver for your device and check if it helps.

Step 2: I suggest you to check for the Windows updates and install all the updates.

  Press Windows logo key +R, enter
  MS-settings: and then press OK. This opens Settings.
  
• 
  In Settings, go to Update & security >
  Windows Update, and then select Check for updates. Install any available updates and restart your PC if required.
