  1. Does anyone know a way to actually STOP Windows changing power settings?

I do a lot of 3D scene rendering and video rendering, both of them can take hours to complete. Also, the 3D scenes themselves can take over 10-15 minutes to load, ... so sometimes I want to put my PC to sleep so I can start it fast the next day, and when I do, I want it to stay on.

So here's my problems BTW, I upgraded my license to Pro so I had GPO as I'm used to AD and GPO due to work:

    1. Solvable - MS Office 2019 keeps re-adding itself to the task scheduler every 2 weeks to update hourly with MS options to bring the PC out of sleep even though GPO setting is set to prevent this - solution workaround is to delete till next or fix is to uninstall permanently - just annoying, but it is preventing me from upgrading to o365 which I want to do because why do I want to pay more for a continued problem ....

    What I need help with:

    2. After setting a custom power setting that's set to never sleep, if I choose to set it to sleep when i'm done then the next day Windows will change it back - completely ignoring the GPO setting. Like tonight, if I check the settings to quickly, Windows ignores the settings you've confirmed and changes them after you've left it to work away and it puts itself to sleep ... obviously that's what you want because you set the GPO to never automatically sleep so why would you expect it to stay on? Also, even with a GPO in place, if I run gpupdate /force the policy is ignored still.

    3. GPO settings for setting applications to not auto-update ie MS Office and not allowed to bring PC out of sleep are ignored - I do list this a second time from point 1 as even when the scheduler is free of MS Office it occasionally does it - I assume for Windows components despite policy but still trying to successfully track that. I've also tried changing the settings to only update at log-on, that's ignored too.

I'm going round in circles with this, and seriously thinking I need to change OS before having a heart attack because i'm now on keyboard no.3, mouse no.2 and PC case no.2 due to the frustration should point out that nothing else in my life has ever been broken in anger, clumsiness yes, anger no - yet i find my PC has become a punch bag!!

    :)
