Windows 10: does anyone know how fix sliders in apps

i have gimp and inkscape and both have sliders in to control tools and effects but i cant seem to move them without them resetting to zero. this seems to happen on most of my programs that use sliders. i made a new login user for my computer and the new user has no problems with the sliders in any program it just my main login. is there a setting i have to change to fix this i cant just switch users because i have alot connected to my origal user.

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.

 

speaker ( or sound ) slider switch disappeared

  Are you able to use Volume slider on the taskbar?
  
• 
  Do you get any error message?
  
• 
  Are you able to see sound icon on the taskbar?
  

I suggest you to hoover your mouse on the right side of the taskbar and click on the sound icon and try to use volume slider and check if it that works.

Follow the steps below and check.

• 
  Discover the empty slot on the
  Taskbar and Right click.
  
• 
  Click on Properties.
  
• 
  Under Taskbar tab and Notification area
  click on Custom.
  
• 
  Tap on Select which icons appears on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Turn on Volume option.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
