    Does CMOS battery make an important role?


    Hi! I have a problem with my laptop. This laptop its pretty old but it works good on Windows 10 November 2019 Update.

    Manufacturer : Dell

    Model : 14z (n411z)

    ___Problem___ I turn it off and place it into my cabinet then i take a rest for like 4 Hours. Then i went to turn it on again and it wont turn on. I tried to remove the Hard Drive Disk and put it back then nothing still happens. Finally i remove the CMOS battery and put it back and it turns on and a beeping sounds comes in. until it loaded up on the lock screen and a beeping sounds is still there. My laptop doesn't have a battery so i must only plugged in to a power source. Maybe its my CMOS battery is the problem?

    Can someone please tell me what is the exact problem on my laptop

    Is there any need to routinely replace a cmos battery ?
    Can you tell ( via software) if it needs replacement ? or are there any symptoms ?
    Does a mobo "recharge" a cmos battery ?

    CMOS battery

    Turn your system off by the PSU and if the bios forgets the settings chances are it's the cmos battery, battery normally last years a long time as the psu is typically left on and no they are not normally rechargeable.
