Windows 10: Does microsoft have a solution for connecting older scanners to windows 10 computers?

I have an older Microtek scanmaker 5600 scanner and my windows 10 laptop does not recognize my scanner. I installed the scan wizard 5 software and the scanner is connected via usb. I had never needed to use any drivers before for connection. The scanwizard 5 software does a probe to locate the scanner. I have the software installed on my laptop and seems to be working, but not recognizing the scanner. Searches on the internet have come up with nothing usable. I tried the software in compatibility mode but the probe still did not detect the scanner. Please help with getting my scanner connected.

Also I recommend you to refer to the user manual for printer device and try to check if there is any change in scanner settings.

I suggest you to check if scanner is detected through below steps.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Then type "View scanners and Cameras" without the quotes in the search bar and click on it.

3. Check if scanner is getting detected in it or not.

it would've been great if microsoft added HEVC decoders, LAV filters along with other codecs with Windows 10, and developing WMP to be better than VLC, KMPlayer and such sorts of media players.

Nevertheless, this is good step for microsoft, by far.

Device is listed but still can not get scanner to connect. I have disconnect device & closed down computer, reconnect the 2 and still not connecting.
