Windows 10: Does Windows 11 support MSXML 6.0?

While installing an application which is developed with msxml 6.0, the installer is looking for a new version of MSXML. The installer works perfectly well in Windows 10. Dows Windows 11 support MSXML 6.0?

These are the only systems that have MSXML 6.0 MSXML6 is the latest MSXML product from Microsoft, and (along with MSXML3) is shipped with Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, .NET Framework 3.0, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows XP Service Pack
3. It also has support for native 64-bit environments. It is an upgrade but not replacement for versions 3 and 4 as they still provide legacy features not supported in version 6. Version 6, 4, and 3 may all be installed and running concurrently. MSXML 6 is
not supported on Windows 9x. Windows XP SP3 includes MSXML 6.0 SP2.

MSXML Clean-up

Hello all,

I have a customer that wants to delete all older versions of MSXML (1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0) on Win10/7 workstations and just leave 6.0 (Latest). From what I see in this document we still support 3.0 and 5.0:

Is it recommended to remove these older versions from the workstations?

 

What version of MsXml is used as default by MsXsl.exe

We currently have MsXml versions 3.0, 4.0 and 7.0 on our Windows 2012 server. We use MsXsl.exe to process xslt files into csv in our application. MsXml version 4.0 has been flagged by our infra team that it should be removed as it is no longer in Microsoft
support. We found that MsXsl.exe we use is of version 4.0 and assume it consumes MsXml 4.0.

Could you please help us with below questions,

1. How to find what version of MsXml is called/consumed by our MsXsl.exe(4.0)
2. What is the default version of MsXml for MsXsl.exe(version 4.0)
3. How to manually force MsXsl.exe to point to a different MsXml version
4. The latest version of MsXsl.exe we could download from
   Microsoft is 3.0. What version of MsXml will it consume by default ?
