  2. RAR/Zip Won't open

    Hello,

When I got Windows 10 I was able to open rar and zip files by default without any program, I then installed an app which set itself as the opening program but it has nothing to do with opening rar files (app is called "Cover") and now I cannot get the files
to open like they originally did.

I would very appreciate any help!

Originally it opened with Windows Explorer, but I cannot make it to open with it again, I always get a message saying that this program is not associated with the file type.

  3. Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:
    • Open WinRAR application in your system.
    • Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
    • A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
    • Now click Open button.
    • Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
    • Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
    • Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
    • Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
    • WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.
I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

    Thanks.

  4. Does Windows have a built in Zip/RaR program?

Opening Zipped files (.rar) without Winzip in Windows 10

Does Windows 10 have a program for unzipping files or do I have to buy WinZip? The extension of the file containing my zipped files is .rar. Can it be opened through the File Explorer in Windows
10? I tried that, but couldn't open the .rar file which is containing my zipped files.
