Don't have permission to save files

Hi, I did try searching for help with this but it wasn't working for me so I wonder if anyone can help.

I recently installed an SSD and cloned my previous C drive to it. Everything works fine. Except that I cannot save files in Program Files or Program Files x86 on the drive.
    I get this message: https://i.gyazo.com/ea5465173975313eeee794c1015ed4e6.png

"You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission."

Now I only have one user on my PC. It has administrator privileges (obviously).
I haven't changed anything since moving Windows to my new SSD so I don't know how to fix this.

Any help would be great, thanks.

    :)

Don't have permission to save file in this location

I bought microsoft office 2016, home & student. I have to save the software from Microsoft.com (it's called office.com/setup) to my laptop (program files x86) then install it (run the exe files, I assume). It doesn't allow me to save microsoft office, the
software (the exe files, I assume), to program files x86 because I am not the administrator. I am and the only user to this PC. So does anyone know how to let windows 10 recognize that this account is the administrator or change the permission of program files
x86 to everyone, not just administrator, can save files, any files? I am running on windows 10 home version.

Do the instructions explicitly say to save the download to that folder ? or does it say save the file then run it to install Office on your system.

Don't have permission to save files

You have to save the file in a location where you do have permission, such as Documents. Then you can cut and paste or copy and paste it from that folder to Program Files or Programs Files X86.

or, "Run as Administrator" whatever program it is that is creating the file that you need to save in Program Files

I just tried saving a simple text file created in Wordpad and got the same results you did and both the solutions above worked.

OK well that does work, it just asks me to confirm as the admin that I want the file moved there. But that's a pain in the butt. Why wouldn't I have permission to save to my program files folder? And how do I give myself permission?

As I said this was not a problem before. although I can't remember the last time I saved something to program files on my C drive which is a drive i never use

I take ownership of the object(s) and the prompts go away.

Don't have permission to save files

So does any protection you had against malware inserting itself there.

Oh so this is normal? Weird. I'm sure when I install programs they go to program files without any problems...

    How do I do that?
