Windows 10: Downgrade from 20h2 to 1909

Hi guys, I've updated from 1909 to 20H2 through windows 10 upgrade assistant and it turned into a complete disaster(infinite bootloop with no recovery mode). So, I did a dirty reinstall(installing without formatting) of 20h2(I didn't wanted to use it, but Microsoft forced me by only being able to download latest ISO from their web.)

The thing is, I found an old 1909 iso, can I boot it with an USB and dirty install it? I will keep my internet disabled but I saw that sometimes the system "auto updates" even though it is offline(and I'm talking about the usb installer not even the windows 10 after-install system setup.

so, what do u think? will it let me install 1909 on top of 20h2? I really can't use the latest version nor 2004 due to hardware incompatibilities.

don't wanna format my disk, even tho I know that dirty install is not recommended at all.

Updating Win 10 1909 to 20H2 directly, will there be any problems?

Hi, just got a new ssd installed, and my local vendor installed the 1809 version in my system. I updated the software to 1909 but there is no update for ver 2004 under Update and Security in settings. I couldn't find any update assistant of 2004, but the
one for 20H2 is available. Is it fine if I directly upgrade to ver 20H2? Will there be any issue or should I upgrade to 2004?

It is perfectly fine to update from version 1909 to version 20h2, no need to install version 2004, I just updated two of my laptops from 1909 and absolutely no problems on either, the update went smoothly on both

User.000 issue after updating to 1909

I'm one of the many people suffering from issues with user profiles after applying Update 1909 to Windows 10. I've read all the threads I can find on the topic here and have followed the suggestions, all to no avail. Any other thoughts are appreciated.

After applying Update 1909, the ProfileImagePath was changed to c:\users\User.000
One file that was always in use and couldn't be removed was left in c:\users\User (can't recall or find the exact file now), so I could never rename or remove the c:\user\User directory.

I followed the multiple suggestions from Brink and others:

• Rebooted at least 6 times
• Enabled hidden Administrator
• Booted into Safe Mode
• Changed ProfileImagePath
• Tried to rename c:\users\User but couldn't because a file was still in use
• Copied all data from c:\users\User.000 into c:\users\User
• Rebooted and had temporary profile
• Followed steps in Brink tutorial to change ImageProfilePath; rebooted with no change
• Restored using Restore Point from before Update 1909 - returned to single profile state (User.000)
• Removed each update that was installed individually and rebooted after each update removal - profile state never changed
• After all updates were removed, repeated the steps above with hidden Administrator, changing profile, etc. - same issue with file in use in c:\users\User
• Followed all steps above with hidden Administrator but without copying files from User.000 to User - same results

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
