Windows 10: Download of cumulative update for Windows 10 verrsion 1803 fails - error code 0x80073712

Several attempts to install the latest cumulative update fail. Have run Windows Troubleshooter which reports a potential data base error but does not fix it. have run System File Checker tool (sfc.exe) but this reports: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations. I have reset my computer and reinstalled Windows 10 but this did not fix the problem.

Any ideas as to how my difficulty can be overcome?

All suggested methods do not work. SFC and DISM in administrator command prompt successfully done, Update troubleshooter repairs two update problems, but they are persistent and come back every time. Update download proceeds to 5%, then stops with the error.
Installing manually from downloaded file also does not work - same error. All other updates, such as definition updates work fine.

I'd like to install this update; any suggestions?
