Windows 10: download problems in wetransfer

I am unable to download zip files from wetransfer through the "all download" button or singularly. However, I can download unzipped files singularly. I had this issue once before and can not remember how I solved it. It was something simple like a setting. I know it tooks days of googling to find and answer and this time no luck on that. So far I have ruled out that it is a Chrome issue (does same thing on Firefox), or a Kaspersky issue or Internet download manager issue. Any help is very appreciated. I should add that I get no error message, the circular arrow icon appears to cycle but nothing downloads.

Do any of the expected actions occur? According to the WeTransfer site:

• In your e-mail program, open the message from WeTransfer.
  
• Click the Download button. A new Web browser window opens to the WeTransfer site, and you see a dialogue box saying your download is ready (see Figure 2).
  
  
• Click Download.
  
• Choose where to put the file on your hard drive and click Save.
  
  
• On the WeTransfer site, click Okay.

Download from WeTransfer

Downloading files sent by WeTransfer isn't working correctly. The download always stops and needs to be resumed. Once the file(s) downloaded after a extremely long down load time the file(s) seems to be corrupt. I think it has to do with de firewall settings.
Only Microsoft Defender is active on my computer.
