  1. Downloaded image resolution

I just upgraded to a new computer, and I'm trying to download some images to use as desktop wallpapers (using google chrome.) however, whenever I download a high res image, such as 1920x1080, the file always saves as a much lower resolution image, like 300x140 or something. So when I try to use these images as my wallpaper, or even view them fullscreen, they appear super grainy, even though they are rendered fine in chrome.
