  1. Downloading new plugins for my music causes WMI Provider host to use a ton of CPU

About a month ago I downloaded some effects from a pretty trustworthy website Bluecat Audio and it caused a new thing to show up in task manager, WMI Provider Host. This program takes up too much CPU and makes more complex applications like games and my music software buffer, sometimes to the point of being unusable. I had sort of fixed this by restarting the service host for the WMI in Services, but later I downloaded some more effects and the problem resurfaced. My computer has been acting very strange. It takes a while to close bigger applications, the CPU usage is usually at

  4. Downloading new plugins for my music causes WMI Provider host to use a ton of CPU

WMI Host Provider Regularly Using Up CPU

    Hi,

On my new laptop, about every ten minutes, WMI Host Provider will suddenly start using about 20-30% of my CPU. It lasts for about a minute and then stops. This can be annoying as it happens even when the laptop is on idle. There was a post about this earlier
and the solution for that person seemed to be going to event viewer and checking the WMI Host Provider operational logs for errors. I followed the same steps, but during and after the spikes in CPU usage, no errors appear to indicate that there is some program
    causing the CPU usage.

    Thanks.
