Discus and support Downloads folder default view changed to friendly dates after installing the official May... in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; I don't user insider builds on my computer.     Downloads folder default view changed to friendly dates after installing the official May...


    I don't user insider builds on my computer. I only use official public versions of Windows 10 updates. On Tuesday June 18th I installed the May 2019 update on my computer and my default view for my downloads folder changed to friendly dates. I thought this was removed from the public version of the update. I can't disable it from a context menu or folder options. I want the old view back. Is this a known issue right now or is this supposed to happen?

    Custom Folder view for new folders registery hack ?

    Te new folder has default view of LIST

    I want DETAILS

    When making new system ... it's a pain in ass changing always.

    Did you download and run Brink's .bat file in Step 1 ? Lacking that, look at the screens in post 3. In Step 5 'folders of this type' defaults to each of the Windows templates for Pictures, Music, etc. If you want ALL folders to have the same List view, r-click any folder in each of the 5 folders under This PC (Desktop does not apply) and hit 'Customize this folder'. Set to 'Optimize this folder for General Items". Then follow the screen in post 3 using List instead of Details in Step 1 and you should be good to go.

    Windows 10 Change default on file view

    Sorry but following the steps that you describe applied to the documents folder did not appear to change the views from details to list in any subfolders which were already set to 'Detail'.

    Nor did this change of default view appear with addition of New folder or a subfolder of New folder.
