Windows 10: downloads in Edge Chromium?

I am unable to find web pages, files and documents in File Explorer if I saved them in the Edge browser. Some files appear in code not readable for me, not in the usual folders, in the wrong folders or not saved anywhere. Many appear only in Wordpad, not in File Explorer!!


Is an online tutorial available that CLEARLY/CONCISELY explains the instructions about where and how to save downloads when using the Edge Chromium browser. Instructions for a lay person, not a computer technician.


I tried using OneDrive but files/etc. were rarely found. I tried to uninstall OneDrive unsuccessfully yet many files are still being saved to that location by Edge.


Is there no option 'Where to save downloads'? Clicking 'Save as' or CTRL + S still sends my downloads somewhere into cyberspace, never to be seen again.


Online instructions must be available somewhere. Why are most questions asked about Windows or Microsoft answered by You Tube or other websites, not by Microsoft? And isn't it about time to delete support answers from 10 years ago,

most do not apply to Windows 10 which everyone now uses?


Please, anyone...I need to fix File Explorer which is unusable as it is right now. Thanks in advance if you can help.

Cannot uninstall Chromium browser at all on Windows 10.

followed the steps you have posted here and was doin' great until the very last step. opened my C: drive but no Chromium folder listed. any other suggestions? really want Chromium off my system as it's a pain in the butt!!!!

Edge Chromium

Hi All,

* We have installed edge chromium 84.0.522.63 offline installer and it has upgraded the inbuilt microsoft edge.

* Current edge chromium 84.0.522.63 got upgraded automatically after an update edg chromium 86.0.622.38 has got installed from windows update.

*But this time once the update got installed, it has created duplicate edge chromium shortcut on the task bar.





*we have unpinned the second one manually but after restart it has come back again.



*One thing we noticed it that, when we launch the edge (edge chromium) browser, the duplicate edge chromium shortcut on the task bar is getting removed by itself..





*but once the device is restarted, we can see the edge chromium duplicate shortcut is back.

we can see inconsistent behaviors here with the edge chromium.

*Please check and help about how to get this duplicate task bar edge chromium shortcut removed permanently.
