Windows 10: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

My computer crashed about a month ago and gave me the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION BSOD. It ended up sending my computer into a automatic repair loop. I eventually sent the computer away to be fixed and the repairer said he had to just reset windows.



I got the computer back and it was working fine, I installed the usual programs but no third party security systems or anything.



Then the other day it started to give me the watchdog bsod again. I didn’t have time to look at it till yesterday and when I did it began to give me the watchdog crash randomly but about every 30 mins.



I tried doing the typical things such as removing third party programs, updating to the latest windows, doing a chkdsk c: /f, as well as other typical fixes, some of which couldn't complete because the system would crash before it could execute. I just ended up saving my files and doing a full system reset. Once windows had restarted I went through and did the usual setup. There were no files, no third party programs but after about 5 minutes of being on the computer it gave me the watchdog bsod again.

Blue screen: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

After a recent updating, my machine has blue screen every 5 - 10 minutes.

The error code is DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

I saw another post here which suggest to use "iastor.sys". But I don't have that in the driver list. Mine is storahci.sys.

The DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION blue screen error can be caused by a variety of hardware, firmware, driver, or software issues. Now, you mentioned that you already changed the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers to standard. Did you update the driver as well? And also,
are you getting the same blue screen error when you play other games? Or is it only occurring when you play a particular game?
