Windows 10: Drag and Drop not working at all with all my software ...

Hi


Im using windows 10 pro build 18363 fresh install


and I simply canNOT using the drag and drop ability to any of my software adobeillustrator autodesk3ds max even blender


its work only on with Windows explorer him self not when a program using him


My account is ADMINISTRATOR and all my program have the admin right UAC is off


and sfc /scannow says PS C:\Windows\system32> sfc /scannow

Drag and Drop

Hi Charles,

the steps you suggested didn't work for me but, when pressing the escape key it somehow expanded the drive and by using drag and drop to the single file in the list worked.

In the past I could drag and drop multiple folders onto the drive on the network computer(s). Doing it on individual folders will take far too long and time consuming and is not an option.

Microsoft should be able to identify what is blocking it and issue a fix.

My machine is multi boot so tomorrow I will try with Windows 7.

Drag and Drop not working Windows 10 on desktop

This method worked for me, give it a try (and it can easily be undone).

• Press Windows + R buttons.
• Type Regedit in the window that appears.
• This will open Windows Registry Editor.
• You have to go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Policies > System
• Find the key EnableLUA, and change 1 to 0.
• Press OK and restart the computer

After the restart, Drag and Drop should work for all programs.

Why is it that most of the fixes i have had to find to fix stupid W10 issues have come from 'private users' not so called MS experts who's suggestions don't work and/or their pathetic reset or reinstall philosophy. If this is the sort of advice MS engineers
give (basically they have no idea of a fix), no wonder W10 (and other versions) have so many issues.
