Windows 10: Dragging Windows

Hi there,
Hoping someone can help with dragging windows problem i'm having on all three Win 10 PC's i own. I have been patiently waiting for Microsoft to fix the problem & have decided to come here for help. As i have stated earlier the problem is with dragging windows on my desktop, "click & hold folder or window banner & drag". Sometimes it works first time, but most times i have up to 5-6 attempts at it before the window becomes movable & it gets annoying very quickly. I have never had this issue before & it has been a persistent problem since the Win 10 was released.
Has nobody else experienced this or am i having a senior moment & have to change a default setting somewhere. Please help as I am about ready to format & reinstall 8.1.

Windows 10 windows drag areas diffent for top and sides/bottom

When dragging the borders of windows in windows 10 the top 'drag area' is just inside the window, on the other three side it is just outside the window, this is counter intuitive, I expect to drag the edge of a window not the outside of it.

I am sorry, I think you will not like my response: There's no issue in Windows 10 regarding dragging & dropping application windows. You place the pointer over the empty place in the titlebar, hold down the left mouse button and drag the window where you want it, then release the mouse button:

This might not be your case but I have had this issue a few times, I've always found out that the issue was a faulty mouse rather than Windows. Not only that I was not able to drag anything but also that a left click was often interpreted by the mouse as double click. In my case, I am a fan of Logitech ergonomic mice. They have a quite common issue, after some time in heavy use the tiny spring under the white plastic bits shown in the screenshot below stops working. When the mouse button is pressed and hold down, the click is received but immediately released. This means that although I kept holding the left mouse button down trying to drag an object, in reality the faulty spring had already released the button thus making dragging impossible.




In my case I solved this by replacing the mouse although Internet is loaded with repair instructions for this specific issue.

You can test if this is your issue quite easily, just get another mouse and try if dragging works better.
