Windows 10: Dreaded Windows 11 Challenge phrase

My desktop has hit me with challenge phrase lockout. I have typed in the A1 etc. phrase which brings me to the “try again” sign in box. However, it will not let me type anything into it. I then followed instructions and hit shift and restart, which brought up a range of solutions which do not work on a PC screen they are obviously touch screen instructions so do not respond to the mouse. Help quick Microsoft PLEASE.!Mellipat

First, "Challenge Phrase" is a new approach taken by Microsoft to thwarting brute force attacks or cyber trespassers. This attack involves a simple process of trying all common or likely PIN codes over and over until the correct code is finally discovered.
When a PIN gets entered incorrectly four times in a row, users are sent to a different screen where they are requires to enter a specific phrase.

May I know what are you trying to do before the challenge phrase prompted?

And what do you mean by nothing happens? Did this mean you where directed to another windows?

Kindly give further details so I can suggest or give you a step by step procedure to fix this.

Windows 11 Sign Issues with Challenge Phrase

Hi,

I am trying to sign into my laptop as normal, but it says my password has been entered incorrectly so I have to enter the challenge phrase A1B2C3 and then my password. I know my password is correct but it keeps locking me out saying it is incorrect. I've followed Windows 11 tutorials to fix login issues but none mention the challenge phrase, which seems to be our issue.
