  1. Drive Repair taking too long.

I bought an Acer Aspire Feb 2020 and day before yesterday the system started to become laggy and unresponsive. I had a few downloads and a few files copying at the moment. I cancelled them and restarted the laptop but the problems continued so I restarted again, both times normally. This time, it went into scanning and repair which I allowed assuming it will fix the problem.

It has been 45 hours since then and my laptop is still showing "Fixing D: drive, Stage 1, 23% 2064 of 170195, total: 43% ETA: 57:26:48". It's progressing but way too slowly. Is this normal? Should I let it go on?

    :)

Windows is taking very long to boot to login screen

Thanks for all the time you and Dalchina spent to find a solution to my problem. Unfortunately, in spite of all attempts, the problem refused to go away!

While searching for a solution on the web, I came across a fellow sufferer's very recent suggestion at answers.microsoft.com. Following the tip, I installed the free version of Windows Repair Tool from tweak.com. Ran this tool and followed the on-screen guides step by step. It took nearly 5 hours to complete and then repeat as suggested by the program. But it was worth it as my problem vanished and this morning, my start up process took only about 1 minute against the earlier 100 minutes!

Did the repair tool leave a log showing what it actually did ? , it would be useful to see what the issue actually was.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
