Windows 10: Driver/Device issues in Windows 10 - USB 2.0 incompatibility

The following comes directly from the driver for the device (a BM-800 Zingyou microphone)

Device SWD\MMDEVAPI\{0.0.1.00000000}.{61367ec3-e195-4c08-8500-051c799e41b3} was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

Alongside this, when ran through a troubleshooter for the device specifically I received this error:

USB Composite Device can’t work properly with USB 3.0.
If the USB 2.0 device is incompatible with USB 3.0, plugging it into a USB 2.0 port can solve the problem.


However, in my mild research online most USB 3.0 ports for Windows tech is able to be backwards compatible with USB 2.0 (the port remains 3.0 but runs at 2.0 performance was the most common response).

Please, any advice would be hugely appreciated!

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your device. Refer these steps:

Method 2: I suggest you to update the USB Drivers.

Try updating the latest USB devices from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to update the USB drivers:

a. Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.

b. Expand the USB driver.

c. Right-click on the USB and click on Update driver software.

d. Restart the computer and check.

I would suggest you to update the USB drivers & check if the issue persists.

Update USB Controllers.

To update the USB Controllers from Device Manager follow these steps.

• Go to Device manager in control panel.
• Select Device manager and a Device Manager window will pop-up.
• Double Click on USB Controllers to expand.
• Right click on the USB Controllers that is listed and select Update.

unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed) windows 10

I had a similar issue that came with a significant Windows 10 update, I tried everything for about a week, I also had issues with a USB Printer not working too, in the end I found that an additional USB driver unrelated to my board was showing in Device Manager, I think it was a Marvell and I don't have any marvel ports, deleted it from Device manager, re-booted, all my problems went.
