Windows 10: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE -- 0x0000009f -- ntoskrnl.exe

Hi everyone,


When I wake up my PC from sleep, it does one of the following things:

- the monitor LED will keep going on/off as if there is no signal. The PC will then reboot after a minute or two

- sometimes the login background appears, but the login accounts do not appear. Num lock button does not work (no keyboard function)

- sometimes there is just a BSOD, as per the above


BlueScreenView indicates it is ntoskrnl.exe, but I believe this is misleading me. Based on these forums, the issue is likely to be a driver.


I have taken the following steps amongst others, but none have worked:

- Swapped out hardware (Video Card, RAM, PS)

- Updated BIOS and SSD firmware to latest versions

- Checked device drivers are up to date

- Disabled power Management on all devices in Device Manager

- Ran SFC and DISM checks

- Performed full A/V scan

- Performed chkdsk on hard drive, but OS is on a SSD

DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE, 0x0000009f afer wakeup


hi,
recently ive been getting [table][tr][td]DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE[/td] [td]0x0000009f[/td] [/tr] [/table]

after wakeup from sleep. Two new things have happened before it started, but dont know if its connected.

updated to insider 17744.1003 and updated intel driver to 24.20.100.6286.

Any clues whats going on?

 

DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (0x0000009f) Crash in Sleep

Hi there,

I have recently experienced an issue where my desktop crashes and restarts just as it enters sleep (occurring maybe 30% of the time). Debugging shows that this is as a result of a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (bugcheckcode: 0x0000009f). Reading elsewhere suggests
this happens due to a particular driver, so I tried updating my Nvidia, Intel wireless, and chipset drivers to no avail.

Unfortunately, bluescreenview and WhoCrashed only report the kernel task ntoskrnl.exe as the culprit so it has been hard to pinpoint what exactly is causing the problem.

Would appreciate any advice on resolving this.

Currently getting the below BSOD. Looking for assistance in pinpointing the problem. I have been told that the hard drive functions in other computers but have been unable to verify if this is true or not.
