Dual monitor setup with DisplayFusion and different resolutions. Game crashes sporadically.

    Running

    ASUS XG279Q (main) 1440p 170 Hz
    Alienware 2521HF (alternate) 1080p 170 Hz

They are set at different resolutions.
I'm suspecting this might be the cause.
I do not know how to fix this.

I'm utilizing DisplayFusion. DisplayFusion has been working well and
I experienced no crashes when I had 2x 2521HF monitors.
Issues started to occur in games after I swapped one of my 2521HF monitors
    with my XG279Q.

When I disable my alternate monitor, my games do not crash at all.
Reconnecting it causes games to crash again, immediately.
They crash sporadically by freezing during gameplay, then exits to desktop.

Both monitors are connected to my RTX 2080 via DisplayPort (identical and new 1.4 cables).

The way I see it, there are a couple of things I could try:

1, Run both monitors at 1080p. Still, I don't want to do this.
    2. Try to connect my alternate monitor to my motherboard,
utilizing my onboard graphics unit. Still, it's pretty sad if I have to
do this to make things work. Not sure it will, either.

Anyone here got any advice or way to perhaps make my setup work without
having my games crash all the time? All my drivers are fresh and reinstalled.
Games are reinstalled. I've narrowed this down to lack of harmony between my
monitors, likely rooted in some kind of software bug. Help Dual monitor setup with DisplayFusion and different resolutions. Game crashes sporadically. :(

  2. Dual monitor, Dual mouse??

    Hello,

Please share this information to assist you better.

    • How have you setup dual monitors?
    • Are you referring to use 2 different mouse/keyboard with the dual monitor setup?
If yes, the mouse or keyboard may function same as one another. Since, it has to be connected to single PC/tower.

However, setting up 2 different mouse/keyboard with the Dual- monitor setup, it may not function separately for each monitor.

Let us know the status of the issue. We will assist you further.

  3. Dual Monitor Setup

    Hello!

I have purchased two monitors of different resolution and am wanting to use them together in a dual monitor setup. My main monitor is a 1920 x 1080 monitor and looks absolutely perfect. The problem is coming from my second monitor, which is a 2560 x 1080
ultra wide monitor. The 2560 x 1080 monitor is being forces to display a 1920 x 1080 resolution and looks horrible and when I enter display settings the highest resolution option shown is 1920 x 1080. Is there anyway I can have my Main monitor show 1920 x
1080 and then have my secondary show its native resolution of 2560 x 1080 as well?? Thank you.

    • Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapters.
    • Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.
